Dear lord, it is done!

I have "worked" on this for the (hold on to your seats) 1.5 years. This is a commission for a classmate of two of her cats, she asked me after had had made two gifts, one of a dog and one of a cat, and I told her that that would probably be possible of she sent me a few photos of her cats. Initially she wanted me to draw an existing photo, I tried that but was not surprised that that didn't work out for me xD Anyway, I sent her a sketch of a plan I had in my head and she loved it so I went ahead with it :3 This have taken such a long time.. it is insane! D: But in the end it was worth it, she loved it and I earned a lot more money that I had thought I would xD

We had talked about a price per hour, but since it took such a long time that wasn't really possible in the end xD

I had in mind something like 40-50 USD in total since people tend not to want to pay for art and that was around the price we had said in the beginning that it would end up at. So when she said that she had thought that I was going to say something 240 USD and then insisted on giving me 180 USD at least I was in shock o.o It really meant a lot that she liked that much and had no problem paying for custom-made art, and it also helped pay of some of my huge dept.. But it is such a relief that it is done xD

Anyway, as I said almost two weeks ago I went home for a few days and was planning on spending all that time with my rats.. well it didn't go that well.. as always Dx

When we got home I saw that one of my rats was really, and I mean REALLY sick.. I called the vet the day after and they told me that they didn't take in rats unless we wanted him put down, but that would cost the same as for a large fucking dog.. 100 USD

It sucked and hurt like hell, but after almost 24 hours of trying to make him at least a little better I couldn't wait one more night, he would probably have died from dehydration if we waited any longer since he wasn't able to drink or eat anything, and he was already in such a bad stat when we got there that I don't think that any vet would have been able to fix him up quick enough :/ We had to make the really hard decision to put him down ourselves, and let me tell you that was such a hard decision to have to make but we couldn't just leave him like that and have him suffer any longer. It was quick, I made sure of that, but the twitching after they die is really not fun to have to see even if you know that they are dead. It wasn't stressfull for him in any way, which it probably would have been if we had to take him to a vet, especially since they didn't have any experience of rats. We went out the next day and I put him in a nice little spot under a rock in the forest, so now we know where he is "buried".

A day or two after that my old rabbit died. That wasn't really a surprise, he was old and sick so I was going to call dad to come and put him down, but he died before that so that just showed that it was his time. It looked like he just had jumped into his house and died, there wasn't really any sign of cramps or anything like that.

I actually skinned him to save his fur afterwards. I found a huge tumor-like thing under his eye, and I mean huge, that probably was a big part of his problems.

And the day after we got home one of my fishes died too xD But that one was REALLY old too and the last one since it's mate had died a few weeks prior, but I'm 99% certain that it was from age on them too since I don't even know for how many years I have ha them for.

So yeah, that wasn't the relaxing time I was hoping for.. But I have now sent a application to a rat sanctuary to find a new friend for my little Martinus :3
