Description
Gurdrun (Guðrún in Old Norse); in Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda. After the death of her first husband the hero Sigurd (Sigurðr), she was forced to marry the chieftain Atli, with whom she had two sons.
After Atli murders her two brothers for their gold, Guðrún, in revenge, murders her two children and then makes Atli eat their cooked hearts and drink their blood mixed with wine in their skull. After this she kill Atli and burn his hall. Eventually Guðrún attempts to drown herself, but she survives and manages to swim to a remote shore where she is found by King Jonak.
In this case I tried to portray the moment when she regains consciousness on the shore before being found by Jonak.
