Sorry, no... My patterns are not for novices - if a person is rather experienced in sewing he/she can decide on the sewing order, allowances, etc. depending on materials available, and what is more convenient for him/her.

What material would you recommend when constructing this hat?

I'd recommend some stiff material that holds the shape nicely. It can be genuine or artifical leather, thin felt, or thick fabric (may require lining). I used 2 layers of linen for this hat.
