Bolin somehow reminds me of Astro Boy. (That, and Superman's Super Lock 
How do you know girls in the Avaverse are more attracted to magnetic personalities, instead of brooding? Or that they don't have the same cultural fixations that we do. I for one think Bolin looks a lot more masculine than Mako, so I don't understand why people think he's a less handsome guy than his brother. He's at least as handsome, just in a different way, more ruggedly handsome.

They're both beef-cakes but in my opinion what might have contributed to his "less handsome status" might have been his less pointed nose. Instead Bolin has a cute rounded one which to me, sort of defines more that he is the younger brother. It would be nice to know how old he is though. I mean, Korra supposed to be around 17 and I wouldn't be surprised in Bolin was closer to 16ish & Mako maybe around 18-19... that's the feel I get from them anyways.
Also, the age & height difference also gives Mako more appeal (as a general rule) meaning Mako may be more "mature" and height is an attractive cue to the female eye. However, I love Bolin because of the killer combo of cute+flirty. It's a character trait you don't see too often (as opposed to broody which is common especially in anime). Though, I read a leak that although Bolin flirts a lot, he doesn't have all THAT much experience in dating which kinda makes me think I'm on the money with the age. I guess we'll just wait an find out.
