I have to wonder if there's any sort of apprenticeship for aspiring young hatchlings, or if Bowser just passes out the funky wands, gives you a clap on the shell, & says "Go $%$* up some plumbers, boy!"
And speaking of Potter...do you suppose the wizarding world would be in such a sorry state if Slytherin's totem critter were a box turtle? Serpents just don't catch a break on the symbolic scapegoat front.
That said, I can only echo T.T.'s observation...and note that even as Magikoopas go SMW 2's Kamek was cheap. He spends the whole damn game throwing monstrous bosses your way, and the one time you deal with the bastard dino-y-turtle he just phases out whenever you jump/tongue-lash/egg him. Wish I knew that one.

The whole "snakes are evil" thing irritates me. I don't think the evil people in that house would be any less evil if it were any other animal. It could be a bunny, and they would still be jerks. Snakes just get the shaft because people suck. -_-
