Your work is great man. It's pretty refreshing to see stuff like that after looking at all these fully colored paintings. There is a LOT of those with digital painting being as accessible as it is. I think there is a room for both. This kind of stuff you do leaves much more to the imagination.
I like that the fish are wicked weird, just as he is. He almost looks like their king of sorts.

Thank you! I'm glad to have found a niche here.I'd love to get into digital painting as well,but my computer is crap.Even then i'd never stop doing traditional b/w drawings,it's just what I do.I'm all for leaving things to the imagination(just the right amount is the trick).
I suppose he could be compared to Frankenstein in a way,thier creator(deformer)or god in a way.I imagined all sorts of deepsea animals being corrupted when coming too close(whales!).Anyways,glad ya liked it!

I sketch in the roughs with a mechanical pencil and then I ink with a Faber-Castel pen and a marker,and then do the details with pencils again.
