Description Lasairn was born to the great wolf general Greymane of his alpha mate, Vera. It was clear from a young age that he was going to be his father's successor, as he quickly became one of the largest direwolves in the kingdom.

When in his early teens, the king of the wolf kingdom, Varik the Generous, was killed in an honor duel, his opponent having poisoned his blade so that the slightest scratch caused the king to collapse. The victor, Refa, quickly beheaded the king, and claimed victory, before he was able to be stopped by Lasairn's father, who suspected foul play.

Refa was quick to enslave or expel the old king's supporters, taking the king's mates as a pleasure slaves, and forcing his son to be a slave. Greymane and Lasairn fled out of the kingdom, fleeing after Refa sent assassin's after them, one of which took the life of Lasairn's sister.

Greymane quickly rallied back together the exiles of the kingdom, and began a long war of rebellion against the usurper, which went well for five years, the rebellion taking small gains and victories at every turn.

After five years, however, the usurper was killed in honor combat by the old king's son, Alric. Instead of allowing the boy to take the throne, however, he was cast out, and the usurper's brother, Blodkärl, took control of the kingdom.

The new ruler was ruthless, and a far more proficient commander, and with his greater forces, was quick to drive back the general and his rebels, forcing them out of the kingdom entirely.

It was around that time that Lasairn met his first mate, a young wolf named Áilleacht. The two quickly fell in love, and were mated. However, his joy quickly turned to sorrow when not even a year later, she died in child birth.

This caused quite the change in Lasairn. He became far more quiet, always stoic, and when he fought, it was with a savagery and strength that they had never seen in him before. There was always a look of sadness in his eyes, however.

After several years of trying to take back more of the kingdom, there started to be a rumor. The old king's son, Alric, had returned. Greymane and Lasairn were quick to seek him out, and before long, Alric rode at the head of the rebels, who called him the true king of wolves. His mate, Yasmin, rode by his side, her visions helping keep the small band safe.

The first year of the new campaign was a long and hard one. They found that Blodkärl had thoroughly cowed the kingdom through his constant ruthless reprisals to those that stood against him. Lasairn was given command of a small group of the rebels, and while he initially suffered some losses, he proved to have his father's eye for tactics.

The second year of the campaign proved to be far better. Several large victories gave the people confidence in joining Alric and his band. The small army grew into a formidable size, large enough to be split into three smaller armies, led by Alric, Greymane, and Lasairn. The latter half of the year was mostly spent training, so that when spring came again, they would be ready.

The third year of the campaign was the last, and it was long and brutal. Every two steps forward taken were pushed back one step by Blodkärl, but the gains were still being made. Castle after castle fell, and more and more joined Alric, the people quick to be rid of their ruthless leader. Greymane fell during the final siege of the great wolf castle, Månsken Keep. Lasairn was the first over the walls, and cut down many of its defenders, though he passed out from blood loss from his many wounds. Alric battled Blodkärl in personal combat, the battle during back and forth, until the tyrant was cut down.

After the battle, the wolf kingdom was thrown into a period of rebuilding. Almost half of the kingdom's populace had been killed over the last 7 years. This caused Alric to establish the Am Mata, the mating time, an old tradition. This helped the population to regrow.

Lasairn became Alric's head general, and close friend, and while he participated in Am Mata, he did not take another mate for several years. Then one year, he was approached by Isolt, a young snow leopard who was the apprentice of Yasmin, the king's mate. The beautiful young lady melted away the barrier that Lasairn had kept up for so long, and before long, he was mated to her.

After another year, he took a young wolfess as a second mate at the urging of Isolt, after he had made a promise to the dying father of the wolfess to take care of his daughter. Isolt thought that the best and easiest way to keep his oath was to offer the girl the opportunity to be his mate, which she took.

Lasairn soon was noticeably different. He laughed more, smiled more, and even sang some. Loving and being loved had helped the wolf regain some of the light that had gone out when he'd lost his first mate.
