Description

Continuing on from the previous comics, Smolder's parents learn of their daughter's impending motherhood and stop by to meet the father and the child-to-be.

Naturally, though, there is a bit of a...size issue...to consider here.

For those who don't remember their grade school geology, "ʻaʻā" and "pāhoehoe" are Hawaiian names for two particular types of lava flows , and seemed to me like good dragon names. Though the font I typically use for dialogue, VTC Letterer Pro, doesn't have much in the way in terms of special characters, so I had to artificially add in a macron symbol to the relevant vowels myself (since "Aa" doesn't look particularly right, especially in all-caps).

I'd initially colored Smolder's mother a lighter and more yellow color as that seemed right, before realizing that the reason that seemed right was because that happened to mostly match the colors of QueenCold's own portrayals of Smolder's mother. Initially I was just going to shrug it off as an honest accident, but eventually decided to go ahead and adjust the color to the more orangey color you see now. It's not a color I like quite as much, but if it means not inadvertently ripping off a fellow artist, it's a small price to pay.

And yes, clearly I'm still doing more of these comics, enough that I'm just going to shrug my shoulders and say it's an ongoing series now. To that end, I've dubbed the series "Smollus," so to give all the comics a common name, updated the past comics accordingly, and made a new folder for them in my gallery for easier navigation which will be linked below. Don't really have a clear plan for this yet beyond "just whenever I feel like making another," so don't expect anything like a consistent schedule or anything, nor anything like a definite runtime--I might do over a dozen of these, or decide to stop after the very next one for all I know currently--but for now, know there probably will be more coming at least eventually.
