D'Ray is cousin and Soul Sister of Shylea L'Naym the Nlian botanist in my AU Star Trek 'New Start' series

She was born in Aaupa, the City of Spices. Her parents were spice merchant Cliffar Torash and Brimyl Ryleth
a noted perfume maker.

When she was three years old her mother's sister Kalii died of an illness not long after giving birth to her only child, Shylea

Before she died, Kalii asked D'Ray to always be a special friend to her daughter. D'Ray promised and that is a promise
that she has gladly upheld ever since.

After Kalii died, relatives rallied around to comfort and support her grieving lifemate Farseen L'Naym

Brimyl spent nearly a year in Khasha helping her brother in law with the new baby. D’Ray wanted to help in anyway that she could and was constantly either helping with her cousin or playing with her. For her part, little Shylea would light up whenever her cousin was in the room, and would cry when she left. When she was finally old enough to crawl and then toddle after her cousin, the two could hardly be found apart. Brimyl often said that she’d gotten two daughters.

Even when they moved back to Auapa, both Brimyl and D'Ray were regular fixtures in the L'Naym home and over the years the cousins remained close. They always thought of each other more as sisters than cousins and in 2253 they both shared their souls with each other, becoming Soul Siblings.

D'Ray gained a flesh and blood sibling in 2242 when her brother Bludye Torash was born.

As an adult D'Ray moved to Oslamth, Nlia's capital, where she began a career combining her two greatest loves: fashion and social gatherings. She missed her Soul Sister fiercely when Shylea left to join Starfleet in 2257 but Soul Siblings are never far apart, no matter the distance.

In 2/6/2262 she came to the Saratoga to help Shylea through the last month of her pregnancy. When Jay'veen Aleyn was born she organized his Naming Ceremony.

SKILLS
D'Ray is a skilled fashion designer, master of either designing beautiful new clothes or dressing people up splendidly in the clothes they already have.
She's also a party planner extraordinaire and if something is over the top yet tasteful, it's due to her.

PERSONALITY
D'Ray is a merry, cheerful woman with so much charisma she can charm the honey out of a bee.
She's spontaneous, impulsive and loves being in the center of the action.

She has a sharp, cunning sense of humor and a mischievous streak.
The less sense of humor a target has the more tempting they are as a target.
But there's never any malice in her mischief.

She is devoted to her family and loves his Soul Sister dearly.
