Shub-Niggurath is one of the Great Old Ones in the Lovecraftian Cthulhu Mythos. Sort of dark fertility goddess, also known as the Black Goat of Woods With a Thousand Young. She's quite often mentioned in H.P. Lovecraft's short stories, although briefly and not with that much of a detail. If I recall correctly, the creatures known as Dark Young were her offspring, but it's been quite a while since I last read any of the stories, so I can't be completely certain.

Unfortunately I won't be able to do any requests at the moment, as majority of my time is currently dedicated to my graduation essay works for the university.

she looks too thin for a goddess of fertility, but the whole concept is pretty nice.
such pics are rarity among all these Derlethian slime blobs of doom.

Perhaps, but like said, first pic, and the possible traits of the Great Old Ones are hard to depict even with a reference (never seen any other picture of Shu-Niggurath other than the formless spawn in the woods). Still, thank you for the comment.

Thank you. Yeah, I know that many pictures of Shub-Niggurath are formless as it is with Azathoth and Yog-Sothoth. I myself own Arkham Horror, and each time I look at the picture of Shub-Niggurath in th card, I think it's a great pic but perhaps not my view of her ^^"

yeah... i think the same.... by the way, the gods have the power to appear in any form... xD
one think i like of lovecraft work, is the way he create (or took from other cultures) formless gods... is really creappy that... and cthulhu, inspires a lot of fear... respect... and atraction

I agree, with both that the gods have power to have any form they want (I know for one that my Azathoth has both formless and "human-shaped" form ^^"), and with how Lovecraft creates his Great Old Ones ^^
The Great Old Ones inspire fear but also great intrigue and dreaded respect...And power which attracts the mortals into their servitude.I t's pretty well and eerily shown, for example, in "Shadow Over Innsmouth", "Dunwich Horror" and "Lurker at the Threshold", to name a few examples.

IA, IA ,SHUB-NIGGURATH!
Good work. Drawing this one is difficult, as she is never really described by Lovecraft. You did quite well with it though!
