My house is surrounded on all sides by acres of blackberry bushes. In fact the entire town i live in is crawling with them. Awful plants, they get into gardens and never ever go away. Ugly green leaves with sharp thorns. And the berrries are usually only ripe for about a week a year. And nothing stains like blackberry juice which is plentifull and squirts easily. but wehn you get the perfect blackberry, they're delicious.Related content

sounds yummy...
for picking wild blackberries, i recommend using a long stick to push away all the branches that have already been picked off of, or not yet ripe branches,
and for the stains and thorns, just use gloves...
and for the gardens,
well,
sorry i'm more of a ooh!-i-didn't-know-that-was-there, pick-and-eat person, than a urghh-what-is-that-thing-doing-in-here, i-didn't-plant-blackberries type of person
and i know this cuz the electric companies' land behind our backyard is filled with wild blackberries, and we go picking every year...
but our blackberries were ripe in early July...
my parents loved screaming at me cuz i didn't pick one thing to save, and ate all the ones my parents picked...
i couldn't help myself!!!
They're SOOO small!!!
