Description Among the Sentinel Corps villains, there are few more dangerous than Catalyst. Not simply because of his power to secrete any chemical concoction from his body, but for who, or more accurately, what he is, a cold and callous monster. Very little is known about the man behind the mask. On the very rare occasions that he is caught and imprisoned, police are unable to find anything to ID him. His fingerprints had been melted away, his blood was contaminated (Likely from his power) to match it with anything in the database, no dental records, and the face under his mask showed signs of surgical facial reconstruction. Despite not knowing his past, people are well aware of the atrocities he has committed since becoming this psychotic alchemist. In his quest to "improve humanity", Catalyst has performed horrendous experiments on unwilling test subjects he had imprisoned, mostly the homeless, finding it logical to abduct those that won't missed by anyone, he didn't care how old they were. This is possibly the most terrifying trait about him, his complete lack of empathy. Men, women, children, the elderly, none are safe from his experiments, which often prove fatal, however to him, every death is merely a learning experience and he moves on to the next test subject. He is cold, calculating machine of logic, any humanity he once had has long since died.
While Catalyst's lack of emotions and cruel experiments already make him a dangerous foe, his power turns him into a much deadlier threat. With his vast knowledge in chemistry, Catalyst can create an assortment of deadly gases, acids and other chemical agents. Some of these include secreting acid from his hand to melt whatever is in his way, including unfortunate victims. Another example, as seen above, is that he can emit mustard gas that he can use to wipe out an entire room of victims. What's more, he appears to be immune to any chemicals that he's exposed to, whether it was created by him or not, giving him a major advantage in a fight. He also has a ridiculously high pain tolerance, able to take tremendous punishment before going down. He's been shot, stabbed, burned, beaten, had his limbs broken, and even took a punch from Crimson Glory, and still manages to get back up. Though, make no mistake, despite all this, his body is still technically human, no enhanced strength, speed, or durability. A bullet to the head would put him down just like any other human (maybe), though with his intellect, you'd be lucky to get chance.

Oh yeah, in fact he's largely inspired by those classic 80's slasher villains. The kind who will find you no matter where you hide, and get back up no matter how many times you knock them down. The idea was that while his power is scary, it pales in comparison to Catalyst himself, who is just as terrifying and dangerous without it.
