Snape worked so well I thought because you could never really tell where he was coming from. That and the fact that no matter what great thing Harry managed to pull off you could always count on Snape to wreck his parade.
The strange thing though was how sympathetic you started to feel after the Harry saw his "worst memory". Young Snape was very tragic. I would liked to have seen a lot more of the Snape, Sirius, & James at Hogwarts stories.

I know if I had to teach the children of some of the lovely folks who made my life miserable in school, I'd have to really try to be at all fair (especially if the kids were anything like their parents).
