Working on a game perhaps?
I like it, but depending on if it is going to be in a game, if it is not like a final fantasy game, it is going to be a nightmare to animate
Otherwise, great depth for the hind legs and I like the lack of a black border (thats one thing I can't seem to get away from), it gives it a very SNES feel to it. Also, the definition of the muscles is very tight, you can tell it is a strong beast.
Personally, I may have gone for a bit of a lighter color in the tusks to give them more definition, perhaps a grayish/white color.
Enjoy,
Damaged

Thanks for the tips! It's not for a game, I'm working on a portfolio to send off to a game company to get a real job! (and no, I'm not animating it... X_X. I think I might take your advice about the tusks.

I dig the drab color, but Aiarashi is right- for something this small, WOW is necessary. Eyecatching color. : )
And did you ever consider patterning the body? Stripes, spots, warts, whatever?

That's a good idea... Some stripes on his back would look great!

Kinda looks like a classic Final Fantasy monster. Although the colors make it look like it's from a Game Boy game, maybe adding some more color would do it good.
As for the monster itself, it looks very nice. ^^

Yeah, I was thinking of just changing the color of the hair and tusks to give it a bit more interest.
