Description
In keeping with the upward tally of lives lost in Iraq and Afghanistan - I created this image of a soldier mourning the loss of a comrade and the family receiving the flag from an Honor Guard during the funeral. This happens daily in the world these young folks live...and too many families waiting for their young to return home.Related content

The conception, the execution of the piece is incredible. The foreground is so dark, the sky is so bright and moody. Incredible work....

This is a photo of the woodcut itself - When the oil print is done, I will exchange it with that...I tried a print about a week ago and it really turned out like crap. I was using water based ink - and although they worked well in the past - for some reason it just wouldn't hold to the paper or the wood. I rinsed the wood with water and let dry for a few days - spray painted it white - and then ran a oil based ink print that I am waiting to dry. I think the photo of the block is kind of cool...
