[link] A portrait of Jared Padalecki which began as a colour study. I managed to inject a bit of emotion into it in the end, I think. Reference used is here: [link]
Two hours into this four hour piece, I realized the reason I was squinting was because it had gotten dark an hour ago and I had been too involved to turn on the light.

I was supposed to go out and get drunk tonight... but I was so emotionally exhausted from everything going on (between moving across the country and just.. other things!) that I decided a night in with my wacom tablet was just the ticket.
And I'm glad I did because I made this, and it made me very happy

I totally agree with you on the scratchy brush! I actually went back and applied an acryllic brush in Sai but it wasn't very visible unless I used huge man strokes which ruined what I had already.
I totally must get some cool new brushes!

It should make you happy!! The emotion is totally there. I normally don't stop to examine pics of Jared/Sam but the emotion grabbed me and made me want a closer look. Very lovely!
