Yeah, once upon a time those wolves were white.........then i got carried away with the colourSan, Moro and the two pups, from ' Princess Mononoke'. For my art courswork i'm studying the work of Studio Ghibli, and did an indepth study on princess mononoke, so i had to do a response (an image based on my research). so here it is, more like fanart really XD, but this will be stuck into my coursework.
Omg the sketch for this was awful. you would not believe how many times i had to rub out and stuff, seriously. at one point i was asking myself whether i should just give up and try a different image. luckily, paint is good at hiding mistakes, so after alot of time and perserverence i managed to complete it and make it look half decent, XD
watercolour paint, pencils, chalk and charcoal (those are like my 4 elements, i cannot survive without them XD).

Brilliant job capturing the facial expressions of each wolf and of course San. If you watched the movie, then you can see it all in their eyes... The young ones always on guard, San as well, also hiding determination and cunning, together under mother's wise, vigilant eyes. Beautiful.

You got them down perfectly and the dirty white really works wonders for Moro and her sons since it adds to the realistic factor as the movie depicted during the day.

I think the dirty white works better, more realistic, it would help them blend into the forest better

We're also massive fans of Princess Mononoke and San is so striking in this.Β You're use of pale colours with strong lines make her strong but sensitive.

What I mean by subtle is, well... the color choice: I see you use some brighter choices in places; maybe if you tone down the scheme? I dunno. Make it seem a bit more mellow (unless you don't want that).
This is all of course my opinion, so... yeah...
