Born during the last years of the Galactic Republic, the Devorian Kleeve would leave the Galactic Republic, when thousands of star systems seceded to form the Confederacy of Independent Systems under Count Dooku. Wishing for a government without corruption, bureaucracy and taxes outside those they used for themselves, these Separatists soon were in a state of war with the Republic after the later attacked Geonosis unprovoked. During this time Kleeve joined the Separatists in their fight for freedom for the Republic and would become a Generald and prestigious commander in many battles for the Separatist Droid Army. On the world of Kallar, Kleeve would use a suicide attack with droids carrying explosives to attack the local pro-Republic forces, an idea he had learned from Cad Bane’s assault on the Jedi Temple. This bombing would fail and the Jedi in return send a Clone battalion under Jedi General Depa Billaba to Kardoa. When Grievous wished to attack Kardoa for no other reason as Billaba being there, something which Kleeve opposed for tactical and strategic reasons. When the time of the Outer Rim Sieges came, Kleeve lead the droid armies of Kallar, but Kallar’s leader Gamut Key, who opposed the Confederate occupation of his world planned to rejoin the Galactic Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic then dispatched a legion of clone soldiers, led by two Jedi, Jedi Master Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume to liberate Kallar from the Confederacy of Independent Systems and kill Kleeve and his forces. Then however came Count Dooku’s betrayal and ousting of Chancellor Palpatine as Darth Sidious and the Separatist counter attack in the Outer Rim Sieges and the Separatist counter-attack changed everything. Leading his forces from Key’s palace, they routed the Jedi with overwhelming numbers, forcing Billaba, Dune and many of their Clones to retreat under heavy losses, when massive Separatist reinforcements in ships and armies arrvied from the until then unused mass-produced reserves in Outer Rim depots and factories. With this victory, Kleeve would be alongside those Separatist commanders that would push their way back into the Mid Rim and even Inner Rim.

Then came the peace treaty with the Galactic Republic, efficiently accepting the Confederacy of Independent Systems freedom as it’s own galactic state, but the fighting between the CIS and Imperialist Remnants on it’s border continued, leading to Kleeve fighting Imperial Troopers instead of Clone and Republic Troopers now. With their push deeper into Imperialist lines their own organic militia, system armies and overall organic forces, regular, mercenary and volunteer ones depleted further, meaning a loss of skilled veterans, that the CIS could not have as future trainers or instructors for new battle droid models. Therefore Kleeve was tasked to secure Thyferra, or at least some of the Bacta producing facilities and substances for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Bacta Wars, a task he completed, but that would still take time until the Confederacy would be able to supply all it’s organic forces and civilians with enough of the substance themselves without relying on future imports. Then the situation worsened during the Droid uprising and rebellion, in which Kleeve himself was nearly killed had he not seen suspicious droid codes and messaging with his cybernetic eye beforehand that allowed him to dodge the initial blaster attack, take cover and kill the battle droids to regain control of his command center main bunker room, before clearing the rest of the facility with the help of fellow organic soldiers. Together they secured the bunker and the nearby city district, while contacting other organic forces that had survived and organizing the resistance against the droid treason and on-slaughter of all organic beings on this world. It was only after their local victory that they would learn the same was happening across the whole Galaxy, not only on Separatists worlds, but Republic, Imperial and neutral ones alike, everywhere were a significant droid force as labor droids, security droids or battle droids had been able of doing so they were rebelling and fighting organics, not only armed soldiers, but everyone not a droid with the clear goal of annihilating them all as best and fast as droid possible. Therefore Kleeve realized how important it was to organist a local resistance, ranging from regular forces all the way to militia made up by armed civilians to bay the locals time to survive and hold out until true reinforcements would finally arrive to deal with the droid uprising and rebellion.
