Lots of keets in the grass. You don't know how hard it is to photograph parakeets in a group like this. They don't hold still and don't stay close enough together to take a decent pictureRelated content

nope, they really don't like human contact. But if you had socialized them at least some, they are used to being held

you do something to catch their attention. In my case I just threw a rock into the air and when it landed they froze just long enough

yea, clipping is easier for management. but now they have an aviary so i don't

aaaw! So cute! And no, parakeets are not easy to photograph in groups. I only have 1 keet, but my friend had a few, and I would try and photograph them, but they MOVED all the time.

a cheap trick is to use something that moves or makes a sound behind you so that they freeze. while outside, i tossed a rock up into the air, and all of them freeze to watch and look at it

okay. Dogs. Domestic ones that will not stand still for a moment. I tried the throw trick with our dog. He just moves. But with the parakeet it worked.

dogs can be a pain. so try a loud high pitched voice or sound. That usually works. If not, try clicking your tongue or a laser pointer, animals are confused by new noises or light movements
