7. Dourjer Metatisic; Decepticons find the Great monarch at last! (Looking down, the first glimpse into the vault just after the seals are removed)

These scenes here (the ruins of Ta'nak, the Memori-plex) have got to be some of the 'darker' TF arts I've ever attempted to put to paper. I was stuck on this personal challenge of managing just what a Transformer would look like after having been dead for some 14 to 15 million years. I spent a lot of time at the junkyard.

HMW: Prop & Template arts

Is just as it reads, these are some prop & template art from/for the construction of the Transformers related online comic, RDD/HMW, etc. During the development of HMW, I had to construct a lot of background and background scenery — LOTS of it! This usually means a lot of DVD watching and pausing to ensure I’m being as accurate as possible, especially with scenes I know that are going to be familiar to TF fan audiences: Shots of the Decepticon crypt for example.

I usually build these in grayscale (since the comic is B&W), save the template, and then catalog them as ‘screentones’ should I ever need them again in any future scenes and panels. Others are kept in color. Others still, such as these here, did not exist and had to be built from the ground up. These include props and various interior back drops.
