It's an opening in an underpass in Jakarta, Indonesia. And I'm not familiar with Niemeyer's work except a couple of pictures of Brasilia... when I saw this place I'm actually reminded of Tadao Ando, with exposed concretes and simple geometrical shapes. You're studying architecture?

I was. But then I realized that as much as I think architecture is interesting, I'm really bad when it comes to designing so I quit.

You know it - I read all your blog posts but we've been pretty busy doing the wedding photog thing, so I've pretty much dropped off the face of the earth as far as having an online life . Dude, he's great - turns two next month and loves trains...plus Alyssa taught him to take his little toy camera and run around yelling "cheese." I'm going to give him one of my old Dianas or something and see what he does with it...can't be worse than the crap I take

thanks, I suspect there might be better shadows on different times of the day but I didn't have the chance to explore much further, gotta visit this place again some time later.
