Description Done entirely in photoshop with a mouse. It took over 100 hours. I have a hard time painting cats, but I gave it my best shot. I would love some hints on how to blend my cat layer down better. Just to let you know ... I am not going to do any more cats ^^: .

I would like to thank spiritsighs & MaskimXul for their brushes once again. I couldn't have done this without them.

This picture is dedicated to my mother, who lost her beloved companion recently to CRF (Chronic Renal Failure).

hmm. I'd say reflect the kitty more on the snow, maybe add some cooler tones to the fur, but yeah, it's gorgeous.

Thank you for the suggestions. It was a bit of a rush job in the end, so my mother could have it by Christmas last year.

I think it's amazing! The whiskers are a little fat, but that's all I can tell! The rest looks so real!

LOL! My brother said the same thing. I tried to go thinner but the background was too busy and it looked like they were chopped off.

Thank you

Awww... it trully is a lovely cat and the painting is breath taking. I can not believe you did this all with a mouse!

With a MOUSE, ouch! Get a wacom for your own health!

Such a beautiful piece, especially moused as it is. I love cats. I lost one once, it was probably the second hardest thing I've ever endured (having my fiance break up with me the night before our wedding, being the first,) and it was right tough.

I love the dove! I can just see the cat trying to catch it. *chuckle*

OMG! What a horrible thing to happen to you. I bet your a very strong and independent woman now.

I hope to see more stainglass pieces from you. Have you ever thought of designing some and then actually making a stainglass piece? It might be a different medium but you have a great eye for putting the design together for it.

That would be interesting! I suppose I could, but I wouldn't know where to start. I'd be limited to construction paper and that tissue paper stuff that fades quick. *grin* Wouldn't know how to go about making a real stained glass. It would be fun, though!

*chuckle* About being strong and independant.. I'm getting there. It happened a little over a month ago, so I'm still healing.

Thank you!

In what way ... good/bad ... do you see an area that may be improved upon? I am working on a third piece and would appreciate your advice in order not to repeat past mistakes.

Thank you . I am still considering making a few adjustments. I need to shadow and blend in the far left side of the cat. The layer just doesn't blend correctly.

This is a really nice picture ofa cat, looks like he/she is very real to me. and it almost look like my cat!

Thank you I wish it didn't look so flat, you can really tell that it was done on a layer, and then blended down. I think I may have made the background too cool in tone for the subjects.

it's just a touch, if you didn't point it out, I might have not notice it. But I think for this picture, The picture should mostly focus on the cat, which it worked out really well. Your welcome!
