This drawing is a late Christmas present for my queerplatonic partner Ivy, who is a non-binary aroace.

Dear Ivy, I know Christmas is already over, and I am so terribly sorry for not finishing and giving your present to you sooner.
I feel horrible for having to keep you wait so long, but hope you can forgive me.
We did, however, wish each other Merry Christmas back on Tuesday. I am still deeply grateful for the beautiful presents I received from you and love them so, so much.
I am incredibly thankful for having met you at the beginning of this year and starting a friendship with you, which only recently grew into our wonderful queerplatonic relationship. You are an amazing person who makes this world, as well as my world and my life, a better place. To me, you have always been so kind, loving, caring, open-minded and open-hearted, compassionate, sweet, adorable, understanding, accepting, respectful, thoughtful, intelligent and devoted. On top of that, you are also a talented writer whose works and writing style never cease to amaze me. I love you very much, my dear, and I want you to always remember you are worthy, loved and valued.

As you already knew, my present to you was going to be a drawing.
Although I had been sure all along that the picture should definitely include you and me, it was tough for me to decide what kind of pose and composition to make. Eventually I decided for an idea of the two of us hugging tightly, with me kissing you on the cheek. We are both wearing some of our winter clothes (I got the idea for your sweater from one photo you posted of yourself several months ago) and I have my hair arranged in this 'half-up, half-down" style. It is true I do not usually wear my hair this way, only occasionally, but I love these kinds of hairstyles and have been wanting to practice drawing them a bit.
I helped myself with of lots of references especially for anatomy. Our facial expressions were probably the most challenging to get right and I spent a large amount of time drawing and improving them, but I am for once very satisfied with how they turned out. There is a lot of flaws, errors and imperfections in the finished picture, though, and I also apologize for the poor quality of the photo (particularly the parts which look a little blurry due to the camera in my phone) and everything I messed up...
Tools used: HB pencil, black ink pens, coloured pencils, Promarkers, white gel pen, 6B pencil, glitter pens.

I hope you can forgive my delay, Ivy. I am so sorry once again.
Despite everything, I hope you will like this small present, at least a little.
