And after the pilot made a huge point about Scrooge getting back in the game, which could almost be seen as meta commentary about has lack of relevance in Disney material for years, he proceeded to get mostly underutilized in favor of those damned brats.
Maybe they'll make up for it in Season 2?

The cartoon... looks alright. I'm keeping an open mind, but I'm not holding my breath.
Personally, the new Webbie looks and sounds reeaally annoying.

If they intend to have her as a Ms. Exposition (as the trailer implies) instead of just Scrappy Doo levels of bratty, then she'd work. The fangirly attitude might be explained if Webbie is still Mrs. Beakley's granddaughter (as was the case in the original series) and moved into McDuck manor because of that.

Seeing as this is the Gravity Falls team, I think they know that adults are more experienced and expressive as well as being easier to get in line with.

I wasn't even aware about Disney rebooting this, sorry man but my instincts tell me to stay away from this as far as possible! There are so many shows that this generation has destroyed (Powerpuff Girls for an example, if I sample every cartoon this'll take all day!). But I also take into consideration that people from generations past probably felt the same way with the cartoons I grew up with, maybe I'm just getting old? Despite never seeing an actual episode I still find it unlikely that this reboot will surpass it's predecessor and for a number of reasons. Much like the majority of today's animation the art style is simplistic and the colors are bland. The old voices as I mentioned are gone, but I can understand Scrooge's case seeing as his voice actor passed away so I'm willing to overlook that one. Will the comedic aspect hold up or will they go lazy and have the characters recite an internet meme for an entire episode? Because last time I checked twerking has only led to anger and confusion rather than laughter and joy. And finally, the pacing. Noticed how also in today's shows that the pacing is so fast that you get to one scene and end up wondering "what the hell just happened!?". Will this show be going so fast forward with the story that we'll not be left with any character development and likability? Because me as a child watching these cartoons gave me a form of connection to the characters because of the good pacing. I learned the depth of the characters over time and every episode was filled with joy and excitement because of this. I also wanted to go on those awesome adventures, swim in money, catch bad guys, etc. But, as they always say, all good things must come to an end, sadly forever. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy the reboot man, at least you're daring enough to give Disney a chance over the long list of crap they've been spewing over the last few years! I'll just hold on to my precious childhood memories like the bloody "Dinosaur" I've obviously become!

The show's art style is meant to emulate the art style from the original Scrooge comics, of which the producers and writers have mentioned they're massive fans of (as well as the show)
As for the Nephews, I will say this and I don't think it should be overlooked or ignored: a problem with the Nephews from the original show is that for all intents and purposes, they're the exact same character. From the looks of this show, they're putting in the honest effort to try and make them diverse from each other and give then their own individual personalities. Which is more than what I can say about the Nephews from Quack Pack (where they somehow became even more one dimensional than they use to be) Now will those personalities be any good? We won't know until the show comes out, but I still don't think this intention should be overlooked.
As for pacing, I wouldn't say all recent shows have lightning fast pacing. Gravity Falls, a fellow Disney XD series, I thought had a perfectly decent pace. Nothing went too fast but it never really slogged either. So who's to say this show won't be the same?

Xugashi In reply to HyperVoiceActing [2017-03-05 00:26:35 +0000 UTC]
I feel like Quack Pack did a good job making them unique, though granted maybe not so much on Ducktales. Ok, so the art style is supposed to emulate the original comics, but it still seems kinda bland. I feel like with a million dollar budget which I assume they have they could've done a better job with it, as opposed to the shoestring budget the original had and still managed to make it look more colorful and lively. I guess my main issue is in their voices, imagine if they swapped Donald's voice with, I don't know, Troy Baker? It was an essential part and now it's gone. But hey, who knows? Maybe the reboot will turn out great in the end? Though, sorry, but I won't be witnessing this trainwreck...I mean masterpiece! Can you guys honestly blame me for being negative with all the horrible reboots lately?

HyperVoiceActing In reply to Xugashi [2017-03-05 02:00:42 +0000 UTC]
You joke about replacing Donald's voice, they actually did that once. And I don't mean the person who's currently voicing Donald in that Mickey Racers show on Disney Junior. Look up a game called PK: Out of the Shadows. Where he spends most of the game voiced by Rob Paulson.
I don't blame you for feeling hesitant about another reboot. But personally I feel like this respects the source material more than other reboots we've gotten (like the ones from CN)

Certainly a diverse cast, that's for sure.
David Tennant certainly is gonna have some big shoes to fill taking over for Alan Young. (may he rest in peace)
Let's just hope for the sake of cartoons they don't screw it up.
