Description A really fun project I did for school.. basically we had to appropriate five different objects (a cartoon character, a food, a pattern, an object, and a place) and give it a theme. sort of styled like Rosenquist
Sooo I decided to do the Garden of Eden

My pattern is the skin of a reticulated python. Cause of the snake who tempted Eve, obviously. My object is a key in a lock, cause Adam and Eve got locked out of the Garden. The place is a random jungle, to represent the Garden itself. The food is an apple, since that is the fruit most commonly associate with the Tree of Knowledge (it's bitten to show the sin was already committed). And the cartoon character is Batman's Poison Ivy, because a) she's a garden QUEEN, and b) she's got this sexy, temptation-inducing appearance. Whether she represents Eve for tempting Adam or is a personification of the snake tempting Eve (the unnatural green might be a like reptilian) is up to the viewer.

So overall I am pretty pleased with this... the trees and garden could use more work. the thing that bugs me the most is Poison Ivy's nose.. I actually painted and repainted that thing at least 20 times (no exaggeration), but I just couldn't get it right. finally I gave up fiddling with it because I had to hand it in ¬.¬ her chin is messed too....

the actual canvas looks better than the photograph, but oh well.
