Description The evil sorceress...many a man has she tricked into doing her business with spells unknown to most. Her appearance can shift between human and snake form at will and sometimes even inbetween those two forms. She must not be mistaken for a Naga or a common changeling as that would be a deadly mistake. Even the wizards in the city of thungil fears her and prefer to stay out of her business.

This picture is part of several that I will be submitting to a publishing company this month, hopefully getting some of them in their next fantasy art book being published next year.

Ask for permission before using this image for any reason.

A superb image. I would like to use it for a portrait for a Baldur's Gate Game. It will not be used commercially. Is that OK?

If that is the size reduced version, the full version must be amazing.

Snakes are very valuable animals. They eat many things harmful to the growing of crops and farmers like snakes. Granted her face is a little weird but it is an attractive one if you look at it from the right perspective. Her figure seems fine and that is one shapely, voluptuous leg she is showing. She looks like she knows how to use that sword - and what's wrong with a chick being able to use a sword? The snake might be a distraction, but only if you let it. She looks to be a valuable addition to any quest I just wonder if we could get her to wear a happy color like yellow.

I am wondering if the snakes are her familiars. They could of course be summoned monsters.

nicely done again, but... (I'm starting to like posting 'but's xD)
the tree, the tree... it looks too unfinished, it seems to me, you sometimes did blur too much (it's not that much away), and I can even see you didn't paint the (earth)ground (did you?). Maybe that's because of my graphic(s)-card-settings (I rose the contrast quite a lot) but I think I should've better told you

But the rest of the picture is still amazing!

(sorry if you don't want such "Devious Thoughts " please tell me, and I'd stop ;D)

Thanks for the feedback! I curse myself for painting in the sunlight as it made the picture seem darker than it really was. When I went back to look for what You described, I saw that there were some lighter parts in the patch of grass in the front that shouldn't be there. I also changed my mind about the tree and shrunk it abit compared to the first version.

Feedback is a large part of the reason why people post their work on here so keep it coming

I kinda disagree, the tree and the blur give the feel of smoke or mist which adds to the mood of the piece. The light patch on the foreground is a bit detracting, but it seems hardly noticable to me. Just my opinion..

Nicirian [2007-09-04 17:17:10 +0000 UTC]

great work. The transition between the human/snake is very well done.. One question though. Is that a tatoo or a scar around her eye? Even in full view it's kinda hard to tell, but I'd be leaning more towards tatoo.

Shockbolt In reply to Nicirian [2007-09-04 20:10:22 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! It's supposed to be a tattoo but it doesn't read that well in this sizereduced version.
You can have a closer look at her face here: [link]

Nicirian In reply to Shockbolt [2007-09-05 00:00:28 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking it was a tattoo, though at a smaller version it could also quite easily pass for a battle wound. yeah, reducing the size a lot of the time reduces detail. As I have found on several pieces. But if the pic is too big, you can't see it all at once anyways. oh well, either way has it's pros and cons.
