Yoohoo - I finally could take all of the data from our film home with me! So here's a shot from the short film "Jim" that I made with a fellow student in February. It's a live action/animation hybrid and I was responsible for (and the only person making) the animated part. She'd written the script before and directed the live action part!Sadly I can't show you the whole film, we aren't allowed to do anything with it before project closure (and we don't even know yet if we want to do anything with it at all) so it's not going online for a while, I think! I'm sorry D:
This was one of my favourite shots. Pretty quickly animated (only had two weeks for like 13 shots) - but I really like the watercolour style I found. If anyone is interested in how the texturing was done, I'd be glad to explain it!

That looks so awesome! You pulled off the wings really well, I imagine that can be a bit of a tricky thing to convey, and all the motion is so smooth with good expression.

Die Wasserfarbentexturen waren alle gemalt und abfotografiert - animiert hab ich digital, und die digitale Colo dann immer separat abgespeichert. zusammengebaut wurde dann eh alles mit Adobe After Effects, das nennt man Compositing (auch mit Hintergründen, Effekten, etc) - und da konnte ich dann diese Farbflächen als Masken nehmen um die Textur dann da draufzukleben. Heißt, nur da wo die Farbe hin soll, sieht man dann auch Wasserfarbentextur. Hat schön funktioniert c:

Es ist eigentlich echt einfach! Ich hab schon viel Schlimmeres mit After Effects machen müssen, aber ich glaube wenn man es nur so erzählt kriegt, kann man es sich schlecht vorstellen (:

The animation looks great, the expressions and the way the hair and eyes move look very realistic - not to mention the hornet's wings! Superb job on this, Sho

This is amazing! I indeed really like the texture and the watercolour effect, but the composition is very neat as well
