Back story: "In the middle of the forest, the Sagittarius knight is getting back to his portal to reach the parallel world from which the 12 Zodiac knights meet and protect our world from Hades."

Hey thanks a lot for your critique. This is really appreciated!! It's great to see how people interprete the image and what rings a bell to one's own references. The tower was not at all evil to me and totally not LOR inspired, in fact it was rather done in references to angel wings, Elysium, and harmonious shapes with like pieces of the Eiffel Tower and stuff to make it looks refined and not really threatening. Though that's what I like in doing scenes like this, to let the reader see what he wants just suggesting a light story and set the background for it, so that he could make a story of his own.

It's funny how art works, where one person see's the light another sees the dark. It's as they say to some the cup is half empty to others it is half full.
Maybe I am just not a very optimistic person?
Anyway I would like to reiterate my congratulations on a job well done!

This is a great picture you've got here. The lighting is a little odd, but I understand that there is a giant beam of light going into the sky. I'm just saying that the lighting is a little red on some areas when they should be the same color as the beam itself. As for the design of the structure, it's beautiful! I can't think of anything wrong with it other than, if the portal is also some sort of fortress, add a front door so that non flight-based creatures could enter. Unless there really is one and I'm not seeing it behind the beam of light. The only real problem I have though, is the atmosphere. It's kind of dark, and alot of movies in this generation have that typical, dark atmosphere. It just doesn't catch my eye unlike the portal. Maybe you could make the light of the beam shine on the surface of the mountains in the background so it doesn't have that movie-like darkness. I'm not saying you should detail every tree on those mountains with yellow light, just enough to where it catches the eye some more. But overall, good job.

The graphics of the image look in certain places, especially the sky, like a medieval oil painting (one of the good ones).

On the backstory: Kinda some what similar to a sci-fan setting i've been working on for a while. The point of coalition is the portal, though in my setting the portals link a number of worlds (a portal will link to another world that it is aligned with; which changes all the time, as the world spins, and the seasons change. The whole issue is rather complicated and is best left of the the Archons of the Alabaster Towers to contemplate.)
The Universal Clock is a major theme that runs through many aspects of the setting.
