Again with my winter water fetish!
I really am just a waterbender at heart
I know that the lights don't usally show up in the daytime but the night lighting didn't seem to work as well. what do you think? [link]

I think it looks Great! On the Dark one I'd suggest making the lights More vibrant and less pastel, the pastel works well with the daylight one. So thats my suggestion.

Love the surrounding snow! It looks so wonderful as though they are embarking on an epic journey. I can't see the night version from here since photobucket is blocked, but the daytime version at least looks lovely.

Awesome job! And I think the night lighting works fine, but just a tip, you should make the colors of the aurora more neon.

You think so? I was trying to make them believeable in a daytime setting, they seem almost too bight to me... I guess this whole thing is just a big artistic licence

I prefer this one over the other. The colors are beautiful. I think the top of the lights should be a little more blended into the background.

The lights look a bit too... uhm... bold. Look at some reference pictures: [link]

The lights need to be much softer and smooth. Use a soft brush and blend them with the rest of the sky. ^^

I like the night lighting...and maybe you could make it (the night lighting version) look better by changing the opacity of the lights and using colors that aren't so soft.
(I'm not entirely sure that this would work, though, but I hope it helps, anyway.)
