These are a collection of stills from a short animated film I recently completed. I worked with a friend of mine who is a music producer and wrote the music for this animation, and then I went away and animated to the music. The basic story is this: The main character (guy with the big mask) has some serious mental problems, and as he's a sorcerer he decides to use his magic to enter his own mind to see if he can sort things out. He walks through the city of his mind and reaches a huge structure which leads him into his inner mind. The creatures that run his inner mind aren't exactly happy with his presence, and the very problems he's come to sort out turn against him. He is flung up into the air, where numerous creatures/demons attack him and eventually kill. A nice happy ending.As I can't upload the animation on this site, here is a link to it on my MySpace page. I've been waiting to see something this strange and amazing for a long, long time. Not exactly a happy tale indeed, but man! The art, the art is excellent. I wish I could make something that cool and different.

Thank you. Yeah, it's not the happiest of tales, all my animations or stories always have really bad endings, I'm not really sure why.
All the animaton (bar the main character) was drawn by hand, whacked into Photoshop and then put together in Flash. The main guy was drawn and animated in Flash. Then each scene was put into After Effects to add lighting and other effects. Sound effects and editing and the final rendering was done in Avid.

That was kinda strange wasn't it? Thanks for your comment! With regards to David Firth, yes I love it! When I was working on this animation a friend recommended I look at his work. I really like Salad fingers, it's quite disturbing but so funny. A lot of my friends now think I am strange because I like it, but it's comedy genius!
