Description
A portrait of the character from Les Miserables, before she cuts her hair and sells it and becomes a prostitute.She's supposed to resemble my friend who played her recently in the musical.

I could've sworn I'd written a long comment about this painting - I think dA ate it. x.x My immediate thoughts were that the texture and linework is exquisite, and the delicacy of the coloring and additive shadowing resembles watercolor. I love the way you rendered the hair; it's fairly clear that you understand the way it grows, in that it's not always perfect corkscrews, that it sometimes reverses or doubles back and spirals opposite to the usual direction - it's detail that few would have thought to include.

This is wonderful. I adore the watercolor effect, which fits so well to Fantine's soft and pure, yet strangely bold, character. The shading on the hair and shirt is pure talent : ) The addition of correct details definately make this a well-deserved fave....

I love Les Miserables! I couldn't stop crying when I saw it. And Ruthie Henshall played Fantine in the 10th anniversary concert. Anyway, Fantine's my fave character so
