Before the events of his saga, Goku Black was traveling through the multiverse. In many universes he managed to cleanse Planet Earth of humanity and in others he was only able to take a beating.

The chaos caused by Goku Black also damaged different timelines, which caught the attention of the Time Force.

The Time Force was preparing an attack against Goku Black to arrest and cryogenize him, however, Goku Black reached the year 3018 thanks to his Time Ring.

The Justice Avengers of that time tried to stop Goku Black, but many members were defeated and others killed. With no other option, the Time Force Rangers decided to travel to the past and ask for help from the Justice Avengers of the past.

Goku Black realized this, chasing the Time Force Rangers with the Time Ring. Goku Black managed to damage Time Force Megazord, however, the Time Force Rangers managed to reach the past, more specifically, between the years 2016 and 2018.

The arrival of Time Force Megazord call the attention of the hero of the city where the Rangers had arrived.

Before Goku Black could destroy Time Force Megazord with the Rangers still inside, he was stopped by a punch in the face that threw him to the ground. A punch given by Superman.

After checking that the Rangers and nearby civilians were okay, Superman went to the place where Goku Black had fallen.

Superman: Stay down! First and final warning!

The warning given by Superman was ignored by Goku Black, who flew against Superman to try to attack him. However, the attacks of the Zamasu on Goku's body were blocked without much trouble by Superman, who did manage to connect punches and kicks to Goku Black.

With only those punches and kicks, Goku Black realized that he had in front of him a Superman who could defeat him at once if he wanted to. However, Superman had several questions. Superman wanted answers, so he decided not to use his full power to prolong the fight and get the answers he wanted.
