Description I said I'd stop counting my projects.
Here's something for everyone's Hallowe'en pleasure.

For the rest of the projects: [link]
________________________________________ _______
Artistic note:
The pattern is adapted from the ever-wonderful Yuichiro Fukaya (of the Visual Kei band Kagrra,'s fame). Official HP: [link]

Technical Details:
Equipment: Cutting board, Artisan cutting blade (#11)
Paper: Heinz Jordan #1 Layout paper (#39, yellow)
Took: about 4 hours
Size: See ruler

Technical Note:
The HJ #1 layout paper is thin and durable, which makes it a good candidate for intricate work. But it's still a good practice to exercise caution when dealing with small details. Extraction of cut-off pieces requires some care.

It reminds me of a comic book the way you show it at one size and then another. I noticed you kind of do one color at time with these artworks. I'm interested in why: are you in the mood for a certain color for a certain amount of time? All of your works suit the colors you choose, though.

The reason why you see a string of projects in one colour (blue, then yellow, then purple) is actually due to a very mundane reason. The paper I used was a drafting paper that came in a size of 30'x24'. Since each piece is only a few inches squared, it takes me quite a while to actually finish using up a sheet of paper. At the time I didn't have room in my apartment to store extra paper (especially cut up pieces of paper), so... one large piece of drafting paper will last for a number of projects - and that is why you will see a string of projects all in the same colour. I try to choose neutral colours that I like, and that explains why you feel the colours fit the project.

So... it really isn't me fitting the project to the paper or choosing a colour for the project. It's just me trying to work with what I've got.

I think it's just amazing you're doing that with just paper (and imagination and talent of course).

Well... I guess the words I might use for myself is "stubbornness" and "pig-headed persistence"

I am of a mind that everyone can do what I do, you just need a little practice. Start with a bigger size and a less-complicated pattern, anyone can have something like this that they call their own. I'm just a very lucky guy who's found a very willing audience, that's all.

... Fame is fleeting, after all. It's a foolish notion to let it go to your head.

Oh, dear...

Your friend wanted to bite it. You want to steal it.

... Do you two have to fight it out now?

Oh, dear... that couldn't be good. Are we talking about a sword fight or pistols at ten paces?

But really... couldn't you have talked... nicely?

Something tells me I don't want to be there to witness this event.

... can the survivor get back to me as to the result, please?

Please do not eat paper. That is not good for your health.

Besides, judging from the size of this project, it wouldn't last one bite.

That being said... thank you!

Oh, indeed.

I mean, Hallowe'en had gone on to be entirely too gaudy, too commercialised. Where did all the subtlety go in this world of ours?

Glad you like it, though.

Technically... the trend has been slowly infiltrating out collective consciousness long before this so-called recession came into play.

I think we've got to blame someone else, sir.

(Say... is that a Holmes? Heaven knows... I miss the man.)

Oh, c'mon, old Bean...
What's this "when the world goes down the tubes, let's blame the man with the floating moustach"?

The man had a hatred for these pagan, gaudy festivals in favour of his own brand of delusion of grandeur. We might as well blame the folks behind the Wiccan movement first.

(Only... they are not the culprits, either. They just seem like a more plausible target then Herr Hitler.)

Oh, dear...

I'm sorry, my friend. I suppose some old habits die hard. I am not always inclined to use popular terms of endearment unless I have to. It certainly sounds like I've flopped here.

I apologise!

Hein...

Now, now... you really have to help me out here. How is "old bean" related to Hallowe'en now? (I know, that's two questions back-to-back here... but you really got me confused here. Just what in the world were you thinking?)

... that being said... it's not nice being twitchy. If that bothers you, I'm sure we can figure something out to take care of it...

...HALLOWEEN IS SCARY.

That's why I was all touchy, and stuff, like I am now...
Though the twitching was because of the spraypaint I used earlier...

What...? Hallowe'en is scary?
Oh, my dear friend... it looks like I'll need to start educating you about the strange and wonderful side of the world where the sun don't shine. Sure, there may be things that go bump in the night, but Hallowe'en is benign enough as it is. There are definitely worse beasties out there.

... either way... no. Twitching is not good for you. Lay off the spraypaint bottle.
