Oil on recycled canvas, 16x20Same as the Yoda painting - covered over a terrible landscape painting with newspaper, glue and white latex house paint.
This is the Empire Strikes Back armor, rather than the more-popular Return of the Jedi armor, because I decided to do this trilogy based on ESB. The original picture is a publicity still or something with a washed-out white background that was probably a hallway on Bespin. I wanted to go darker, so now he's standing at the end of a pipe or something.

This is gorgeous! It's so cool to see more traditional art for the original trilogy. You definitely have a talent for using oil paint. Amazing!

Thanks man! I have loved the costumes, props and set pieces of the original trilogy since I was a little kid. I want to surround myself with these images, but I'm at the age where posters are kind of childish, but oil paintings have an inherent maturity and gravitas even if the subject matter is "pop". I have a few more in mind that I want to do.
