Huh, it looks a view of the globe at a great height. I mean, this does not look lousy, unlike real maps from the modern era.

Lovely work mate! Love the perspective on this but especially the mountain work - reminds me a lot of flying over New Zealand.

It looks great to me, especially that you got the relief depth to show very nicely even with the aged effects and so many trees. (It's also nice that I have a big 4K screen and can see it all in full-size at once.) I do see what you mean about the trees, though it may be the colors that make them stand out a bit too much; also, I wonder if any programs let you create a brush that can vary some of the shapes (angle of the trunk, elongation of the top, etc.) as you brush. IIRC most good tablets should be able to let you do the step by eye, but randomizing shapes is a pretty tall order I suppose.
Still, quite a beautiful and well-detailed map of what must be a pretty busy trading region. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, it is a problem. It's easier to just draw them all by hand, but far more time consuming.
You can get a brush to do adjustments based on pen pressure but then it isn't an opaque tree, which is really key.
Without it being opaque, it really fails visually.
This is part of why I don't really use map elements, even my own crafted ones.

The perspective-effect on this one is unique. It immediately caught my eye, though your maps are lovely every day of the year!

A very pretty map, indeed. My only issue is that the perspective makes it awkward to see how far things are from each other and how large other things are. But as a fantasy map, it's excellent.

To be honest, it's actually really cool as a design for a map at the beginning of a book. I like this design, it's just not really that good for showing distances, which unless travel times are an issue in the story, probably isn't that much of a big deal anyways.

That is true. Though the main area of focus, Chahongi-zha, is mostly good for doing a scale measurement.
I even forgot to add a scale and compass, though a scale would serve only marginal use with the perspective and all.

Hell yeah ! I think this one could be a Thurian if you just expanded the scope.

We're pretty close in on this map.
A fair bit closer than on the big Thurian world map.
I actually totally forgot to put a scale and compass on this map.
I had meant to. I should add them and repost this, maybe.
