Description Queen Chrysalis card
4 x 6 Marker Paper
Marker, Gel Pen

So much was lost in the scan. I guess the semi-translucency of marker paper just doesn’t translate well in scans. I tried to get the glow the yellow gel pen provided on paper, but it still isn’t quite there. And her hair lines don’t sparkle like on the paper either.

What kind of markers and gel pens do you use?

A combination of Prismacolor and Copics for the markers. Gel pens are Sakura Gelly Roll, mainly. :]

Thank you very much! I was impressed by the color outlines, though I've stuck with manga-style black ones for now. I'll know what to aim for in the coming months.

I love the colour scheme, and the background flames.. she's lovely!
I find the scanner doesn't pic up well some marker effects. Did you try taking an actual photo of the card? Sometimes that reflects it more faithfully.

I haven't. I don't have a good camera really, the only one I have is my iPhone. But still it may do a better job of getting all the nuances. I'll have to try that. Thanks Apis! :]
