“So, you’re sure this place has some of my Dad’s old documents?” Charlie whispered harshly, her head almost comically shrunk into her shoulders. Robin had to squint to make out her panicked expression.
“That’s… what Mother said in her notes, yes.” Robin replied, ducking her own head lower. Charlie opened her mouth to respond.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
She shut her mouth. Robin heard her heartbeat in her ears as she unconsciously held her breath. Her eyes flicked up to the table covering them.
Thud. Shift. Thud.
”I know you’re in heeeere.” A shrill voice sung. Charlie looked over her shoulder at the white figure of the towering bear that roamed the room. Her teeth grit to the point where her jaw ached.
“Well, lucky for you, I’m kinda a pro at running from killer robots.” She whispered.
“Even robots that weren’t possessed?” Robin asked, her gaze drawn to the deep scar on Charlie’s cheek.
“No, this is different…”
SLAM.
Robin heard Charlie inhale sharply through her teeth, the sound of her own heartbeat ringing in her ears. She looked up at the table once more. Exactly where the sound came from. She looked to the side. Freddy still stood a good ways from the table.
”I hear you.” A childish voice whispered through the table.
