Description
I've had this AU for a while. Don't know why I haven't posted much about it.
Some info on this.
Everything happens the same as in the musical, until Blow Us All Away, where Philip consults his father before challenging Eacker to the duel. Hamilton, having been a soldier and in his fair share of duels (usually as a second), tells Pip not to challenge Eacker. Instead, he tells him to talk it out, and if Eacker still refuses to apologize, to leave the issue alone. After all, he doesn't want his beloved son to get hurt. Then the rest of the story continues in parallel with the musical. Eliza forgives Ham, Ham chooses Jefferson over Burr, Burr gets pissed, etc. Everything is the same.
That is, up until Hamilton is killed in the duel with Burr.
And that is when Philip snaps
Philip, like the rest of his family, is completely unaware that his father is participating in a duel, and even less so that this duel is with Vice President Aaron Burr. A man that, mind you, they've trusted wholly up until now.
And when Philip finds out that his Pops had been shot, he runs faster than ever from where he'd been hanging out with his friends to the house where Hamilton now lies.
Philip arrives, and throughout the many long hours that his father lays dying in agony, he and his mother are begging, pleading for him to stay alive, to stay with themβ¦
All to no avail.
After proclaiming his eternal love for his family and telling Philip that he has always been intensely proud of him, Alexander Hamilton passes away at 2 in the afternoon.
Philip is devastated.
But more than that, he's angry.
Oh BOY is he angry; furious.
And once he goads a very reluctant Nathanial Pendleton to tell him who was his father's opponent in the duel, he's gone.
When he finds out that Aaron Burr killed his father, the charismatic, forgiving, friendly Philip Hamilton vanishes.
Now having graduated from King's College, the 23- year- old Pip says goodbye to his mother and siblings (with promises to visit) and disappears.
No one knows where Philip went, and some think him dead.
But... in reality, Philip is very much alive.
And he is out for blood.
Aaron Burr's blood.
Unknown to anyone, Philip has spent the years stalking Burr, watching him, taking aim, taking notes, writing essays against him and publishing them anonymously under the pseudonym Ares.
Then, years later, Philip makes himself known to Aaron. Shows him who his secret tormenter really is.
And Aaron is terrified beyond belief.
Philip pulls out his father's old pistol, the very same one he used in the duel that ended his life, and looks the mortified Burr straight in the eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm a Hamilton with pride. You put a bullet in my father. I will NOT let it slide. "He pulls the trigger, and sends a bullet piercing through the already broken heart of his father's murderer. Then... he leaves. Walks away, leaving Aaron Burr's dead body lying alone in an old battlefield, in a pool of the same cold blood that Philip's father died in. Then he visits his mother and family, pays his respects to his beloved father at his grave-
And is never seen again.
