Description I would have called this "The Halberdier and the Swordmaster", but the character limit for submission titles is pretty small, so I had to make do. And I honestly think it's true anyway, because - much like Boyd and Oscar in my previous submission - these two served me incredibly well throughout my run, especially once they got to their promoted classes; in fact, they're also within my Top Five - 5th place for Nephenee and 3rd place for Mia. It also helps that I find both of them pretty, but I digress. As units, both of them start off fairly weak, especially considering their respective join times and base stats. However, I was more than determined to use them throughout my playthrough, so I grit my teeth and put in the work to get them up there.

Let's start with Nephenee; she starts as a Soldier class and is the first playable unit of that class in a Fire Emblem game that had a western release. Soldiers wield lances and, similar to Cavaliers, have generally well-rounded stats. However, there's a bit of a problem; she is only usable starting in Chapter 11 - a bit after a third of the game - at level 7 with average to mediocre base stats and a weapon rank of E, limiting which lances she can use for a long while. Ultimately, as a Halberdier, she ended up being my go-to foot tank (a role that would normally go to Armor Knights like Gatrie, whom I ended up benching when I realized he got seriously Strength screwed), but was also fast enough to double a good number of enemy units (except for cat laguz and swordmasters, based on memory, who naturally are supposed to be speedy, so that's fine), though I did give her a Dracoshield at one point, so that might have helped with her tankiness.

On the other hand, Mia becoming as good as she did was a genuine surprise for me. Starting as a level 7 Myrmidon joining in Chapter 7, though her join time is alright enough, her base stats were actually pretty bad, so I had to exercise extreme caution when sending her to battles, only having her go in for killing blows most of the time. Sometimes, I even ended up having to bench her for a couple of chapters since I needed axe and lance users more. However, after a few levels into the Swordmaster class, I gradually stopped fearing for her safety as much, as her ridiculous Speed allowed her to dodge most attacks that came her way and double most enemies, and her Skill stat ensured that her strikes would make their mark and, with the addition of a critical rate bonus that Swordmasters naturally had, land the occasional critical hit to deal triple damage in a single blow - more often than not spelling the enemy's doom. Oh, and I didn't give her a single stat booster item, unlike with Nephenee; so, that growth was all her, and knowing her, she wouldn't have it any other way.

For the art, I also used their official art in Path of Radiance as a base reference, but I also took a look at their respective official art in Heroes for their outfits..

That's all for the characters I've drawn so far, so it may be a while 'til I make another upload. Until then, this is Crimson, signing off!
