Description here is a quick little drawing i did for my blog that no one ever goes to. i figured i would update it and added this little ditty to it. its a 70's line up of HB characters who were very close to becoming iconic infamous characters in pop culture like Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Fred Flintstone, Underdog, Woody Woodpecker and Popeye, but instead, for various reasons i explain in the blog, never jump the hurdle to infamy and instead remain in somewhat obscurity. Unlike such cartoons as Mighty Man and Yukk, the Groovie Ghoulies, Crusader Rabbit, Ricochet Rabbit, the Houndcats and the Freedom Force who were creations never destined to be in the popular eye for generations. i would love to have a conversation about it with y'all but i don't think enough people care or remember these dudes for it to matter.

Captain Caveman's still pretty popular.
Maybe not with today's KIDS, but then,
despite what seems to be popular opinion, cartoons
aren't really for/about THEM, anyway.
Even with the rampant merchandising and abuse
of nostalgia that seems to permeate today's
entertainment industry.

Heheh, I have to side with Dynamoe's comment also. Cartoons will never age or die so long as they still have fans, regardless of how obscure they may seem.

Neat work on the background. Definatly has the 70's feel to it.

i guess that could be argued, but i want more from my favorites. its like if you have a child and they have so much potential but you move to siberia and make him attend a school in a one room schoolhouse and there are 15 kids in the whole school and no basketball team. he through, but he had so much potential

Wasn't there a quote in Roger Rabbit that made reference to a Toon never truly dying so long as it was remembered?

You've saved a lot of lives
