Va-Takin:
A reclusive race, of cybernetically enhanced clones. Va-Takin value knowledge, and continued existence above all else.
Tracing their lineage back to earth, their origins start with a single human, who found a crystalline alien lifeform that had fallen to earth.
The Alien known simply as "The Vector Core" was capable of converting matter into energy, and energy back into any form of matter.
With the Vector Core, the single Human was able to sire a race of clones, and later become their Overlord.

Cold and Calculating, The Va-Takin seem emotionless, and/or Evil to most species that encounter them. In reality however, their seemingly cold, and emotionless demeanor, doesn't stem from the intent to be, hostile or malicious. It is simply a lack of emotional interaction.
99% of Va-Takin are all Male clones, and any time one of them dies, Their consciousness is warped out of their old body, and inserted into a new clone body.
All totaled there were One thousand, and One Va-Takin

With no need for sexual interaction, to reproduce, all related emotions faded into near non existence.
And not having to worry about death, they developed an extraordinary level of patience. Anger, and frustration became alien to them, as they had all the time in the universe to get anything done.

In Addition to all this, the Va-Takin were cut off from the rest of the Galaxy, for several centuries. Hidden in a Sub-dimension "Below" Space.
From this haven they simply observed the other Races of the Galaxy, cataloging all forms of knowledge and information, in a tireless quest to know everything.

This continued for several thousand years, till the Va-Takin finally hit a road block in their quest for knowledge.
They could learn nothing more from simply observing. To gain more knowledge they would have to interact with other Races.

There lack of social interaction, and emotional understanding. The Va-Takin were unsure of how to approach other Organic species.
Robots, and A.I. that had little in the way of emotions were easier to understand, so the Va-Takin approched them first.
At the Time A Race of robots, was at war with an alliance of Organics.
Seeing War as the simplest form of interaction, and Hate an Fear as the simplest emotions to mimic. The Va-Takin sided with the Robots.

Technologically superior, Va-Takin Ships cast a shadow of death over most, who were unfortunate enough to come into their crosshairs.
However their small number, and slow reclone rate, made them a minor threat to the Alliance.
They also lacked any real hatred, or ambition. seeing no point in pursuing fleeing enemies.

It wasn't until near the end of the war, that things started to change.
Slowly the Va-Takin soldiers had acquired taste for battle, gaining a rush of adrenaline from the hunt.
The Droid army war also losing, sparking a degree of frustration, and anger.

One of the biggest change however came, when a new Organic race joined the Droid armys. The Vice, a Race of savage, brutal, and carnivorous bipeds. Their savagery and desire to fight, for the sake of Fighting, made them so vary diffrent from the Va-Takin.
Va-Takin Counselors, The most reclusive of all Va-Takin, who rarely ventured outside of the Va-Takin Sub-dimension. were enchanted by the Vice females.
Most of the Counselors ventured out of their sanctuary, to interact the Vice more directly.
At first the Vice females simply tolerated the Va-Takin (Beacuse they were Allies) who kept following them around.

Eventually however, curiosity, and continuous interaction sprouted relationships, that eventually led to sexual interaction. Resulting in Vice / Va-Takin Hybrids.

Finnaly at the end of the war an unforeseen, and tragic event shook the very foundation of the Va-Takin race. Their Overlord, and the Vector Core had both vanished, no were to be found in the galaxy.
For the first time Fear, and confusion consumed the Va-Takin.
without their leader they splintered, abandoned their Sub-dimension, and scattered across the galaxy.

Some went with the Vice, to continue on with their mates, an raise their Hybrid children.

Others became pirates, or mercenaries, seeking energy to power the sciences that granted them their immortality.

The rest sot out powerful lords, and cosmic entities, to serve in exchange for immortality, and sanctuary.

(Sub-note: Va-Takin Do not have any concept of religion, or superstition. But they do however have a malicious aversion, to their faces being seen. If seen without a helmet, by some one who doesn't have permission, a Va-Takin will go as far as killing the person who saw them.)

Hybrid Race Vic-Takin:
Highly intelligent and equally brutal, the Vic-Takin are Few and fearsome.
Gifted knowledge, and technology, from their fathers, and savage strength, and voracious hunger from their mothers, The Vic-Takin are the perfect super soldiers. fearless, powerful, and hungry, The few Vic-Takin that exist wander the galaxy. Individually seeking challenges, to test their strength and skill. and new aliens to eat.
They have little want for wealth, but can be bartered into service... If the job meets their standards.

Subspecies ShatterDream:
The First, and only know Female Va-Takin, ShatterDream is a being of pure, Liquid, Crystalline, Energy.
A mathematical anomaly, Shatter Dream was spawned, when the Va-Takin were trying to create a way to convert energy into solid matter.
the Science was so complex, they had to create a sentient body, to act as a catalyst. The warped mathematics, and energies involved took shape into Shatter Dream, who was female in form.
With ShatterDream the Va-Takin were able to perfect energy/Matter conversion.
ShatterDream herself has a much diffren't personality than her "Brothers" she has strong emotional, and physical needs.
However, her body is a warped mass of Liquid, Crystalline, Energy. most matter she touches gets Fried, Warped, Exploded, or Vaporized.
She has been touched by others, if only briefly, but it has always ended badly.
So far this has made it impossible to form physical bonds with anybody. and her "brothers" were no good for any emotional bonds.
After the War she wandered off into the galaxy, leaving her home, and "brothers" behind, in search of some one she could form a emotional bond with, and maybe even a physical one.
