Whatcha mean by 'flack' weapons, and does that include hyper-velocity slugs?

Yep! X3
Zero-Point armor doesn't exist. That is, once it is attached to a ship and then enabled, it is difficult to even detect that it exists using normal sensors. It is not a stealth material (unfortunately). Rather, it is almost like wrapping a black hole around a ship.
Zero-Point armor doesn't create a gravitation field by default. Instead, it creates a reverse gravitational field based on reacting to force. The greater the force impact on the armor, the more reverse gravitational force is created. Zero Point armor has a nearly infinite potential for refracting kinetic mass impacts. The net effect is that when struck by mass driver weapons, they literally bounce off harmlessly.

Ah...so basically, the LESS powerful the kinetic weapon, the more likely it would do damage? That's like shooting at someone underwater! XD That was on Mythbusters! The really low-powered weapons (ie a handgun and a low-powered rifle) were able to penetrate the water, but the highpowered stuff (like hte .50 calibur sniper rifle), the bullets shattered on impact with the water.

No its more like, it doesn't matter how hard you hit it with kinetic weapons,
Every thing will just bounce off, as if you threw a pebble at it! X3

Its still Kinetic, If it blew up under the DS,it might do some damage, But everything ontop would just ignore it!

The Explosion is a Kinetic reaction!
And heat isn't a factor.. if it was, then super heated flack shots would be all it takes to get through Zero Point Armor!
The heat given off, from a Missile Explosion is superficial at beast, not even close to Super heated flack rounds!

what if it's, say, a thermonuke? weaponized lasers don't come close in enegy output to that. XD *prod* I'm just curious is all

Slushy-man In reply to Ovni-the-UFO [2008-10-15 22:09:29 +0000 UTC]
Energy output yes... But its not focused!
Its just a big blast, that gos in all directions!
Heavy Lazer fire has all the Energy output, focused onto one point!
In the end it comes down to control. You could have a ton of power, But unless you can control it, Focused it onto one point, Its not gonna do a thing!

Shaped charges are used on nukes most all the time, to focus the blast at the ground. o: They don't want it going every which way, they want it going one way so it will penetrate and destroy bunkers and whatnot.
I'm makin a spaceship. :3

Key word is "penetrate"!
Zero point armor, is made to not be penetrated!
No matter how hard you hit it, its just gonna bounce off harmlessly!
Yay Space ship! ^-^

...methinks you're not aware of what a nuclear missile's primary damage is. XD; Plus lasers don't use ions OR plasma as their primary damage.

If nuclear missile's did damage to Zero point armor, They would have done so in Galactic Civilizations!
Ion cannons, and Plasma blasters are just two examples of lazer weapons!

Ah...
That game got lasers wrong, sadly. <.<;; Those are Directed Energy weapons, like lasers, but a laser specifically is Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. In other words, it's a beam of high-energy photons (like the radiation from a nuclear blast) that are 'in-phase' with each other, allowing for a tightly concentrated beam that can travel for hundreds, if not thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of miles. :3
GAH, I went all technical again. .-. Sorry!

What you just described is the first level of simple lazer system!
After that it gos up to, Plasma, Phasors, Ion, All the way to Death Ray!
And like I said before, Light lazers have no effect on Zero point armor!

Ovni-the-UFO In reply to Slushy-man [2008-10-20 12:24:26 +0000 UTC]
I mean real world lasers, everything else are classified as 'directed energy weapons'. XD The game doesn't understand that LASER is SIMPLY an acronym. It's not a 'type' of weapon, it's a 'specific' weapon.
