Yoshi really knows how to pose for a portrait, not only is is very cute but the details are stunning! This really looks like it came from a real painting back then! How long did it take to do this????

I really like this. It does have a streak of Renaissance oil paintings; the lighting is beautiful. I love those soft shadows and the gleam in his eyes.

A tablet will definitely help the ease of painting in any program but it won't make you a better artist. There are people still using the mouse and can make amazing images.

and trust me i know. my friend does the best art on facebook with the graffiti app. i have no clue how she does it.

I was totally going to mention how this has the same aspects of the grand master's painting styles. (not as complicated of course, but same dynamic coloring) but ya beat me to it.
Anyways, I say you're redeemed for drawing that strange yoshi/banjo pic. lol, This is how yoshi should be. Innocent and cheerful~
