When you say unpopular thoughts out loud.But there, you have it. I'm not fond of little minions. Demon prawns. Crying banshees. Offsprings. Parasites that stay in your uterus for 9 months...
I can go on and on about how much I abhor the thoughts of having children...*braces self for the unsubscribing*
I'd never hit a child. And I'd put my life on the lines to protect random kids within my parameters and put them out of harm's way. Because that's what decent Snails do.
Still. I am not fond of children.
(I'm a kid magnet though...which is ironic.)
People mistake you saying you hate little kids for I'm going to drown them in my bathtubs or something.
On second thought, that does sound bad...lol But I just don't like crying banshees. Nothing I can do about it.
There you have it, future spouse. Shall you desire children, have as many as you like.

I am still indebted to my mother, my uncles. There are people suffering everywhere, that I can dedicate time/money to...instead of bringing another damn banshee onto this abysmal world.

I'm so glad you spoke out about this, while I want to have kids personally I get really annoyed when people say things like "you're making the right choice there are two many people who don't want kids" the f ?Β
Some people are called to have kids some aren't, God has a plan for everyone and sometimes that means they are not called to have kids. Which is fine and normal you don't want kids ? GREAT ! I'll leave mine with a babysitter and come hang with you when I need a break.

i feel your pain. i had so may people tell me what they told you. but i reallyΒ don't hate kids. I just don't want any of my own. I rather be a cool aunt or something. I personally enjoy intelligent argument... but when it boils down to stuff like that, a childish battle of the poorly-worded opinions, then I'm all for shutting it out. I for one think it's very responsible to recognize that you don't like kids rather than simply do what society expects you to and have kids, only for it to take a mental toll on you that would be detrimental to both you and your hypothetical children.
I'm still deciding if I want children. I love the idea of raising the next generation - I've been reading parenting books since I was ten - but now that I'm older I'm starting to realize that A, I have aspirations that might not be able to accommodate the full time job that is a family, and B... babies are boring and hard. I'd rather just have a ready-made twelve year old, thank you. XD

You know.... every so often I come back and read this post. And every time I take away two things: 1. Other people want to hear your opinions.... as long as they align with their own. Or close enough that they can persuade you that they are right. 2. Other people exist that have said "screw you" to their bloodline and are ok with it. I came to the conclusion some time ago that I would never burden another being with my genetic disaster. I might adopt at some point... but that is a very big maybe.Β
Feel good about the fact that you acknowledge who you are in this matter... and that you are refusing to conform to societal norms. Cause screw them, you be the snaillord and they are just jealous.Β

I'm with you on the child front. I Personally do not want children. For many many reasons. I was lucky with a family who supports me in my decision. Like you though some people don't understand that. As a result i end up spending a lot of time quietly biting my tongue while they try to change my mind. It can be very difficult at times to try and stay polite. In the end i try to politely remind them that it is my life so its my life so my decision because I'm the one that will be living it not them. I find it rude when some one tries to push their personal beliefs on you in any form. Β

I mean, I've kinda gotten to the stage where I'm... okay with my figure? And then there's the childbirth itself - aw HELL NO
Besides, the friggin population is on the road to hitting 9 billion, and at the rate of western consumption the world can only support 1-2 billion. I do NOT need to bring ANOTHER bawling, spewing, pooping kid into the world, and swell the population further. Mrs 9-kids-and-counting can have all that to herself.
I think if I ever for some goddamn forsaken reason find myself wanting kids, I'll adopt some teen or sth. So many kids need loving families and all that shiet, why have your own kid when there's one PRE-POTTY TRAINED. Srsly. No brainer if you ask me.

It's up to the individual whether or not to have children.
Currently, I'm going through a medical situation where I may not be able to have my own children...but I still have the option to raise children by either adopting or being a foster parent. Thereby, being a parent is optional, regardless.
So, in that same respect, being a non-parent is also optional, am I right? Yes, yes I am.Β
If others can't respect that logic, then they have earned the response of being ignored/un-friended.Β
Friends are people that respect and acknowledge you as you are, not as how they want to perceive you.Β
