Gold Saint Aquarius Camus from Saint Seiya (aka Knights of the Zodiac) by Masami Kurumada.I felt ashamed that I had never posted any Saint Seiya drawing even though it's so special to me. And this is dedicated to *stayka and ~Ryou63 because they're huge SS fans and I'm sorry for not having posted SS art sooner.
The name Saint Seiya "圣斗士星矢" was so familiar to me ever since kindergarten though I have no memory of having watched it until it was released here as Knights of the Zodiac. But I do remember having sticks of it all over my desk XD and I somehow had an equal sign between Saint Seiya and Transformers XD But I do remember watch B't X very well, by the same author! And that was around grade 2 so I had never any background knowledge of it. So imagine how happy I was when I found out that Knights of the Zodiac was really 圣斗士星矢 and that it was connected to B't X! I could hardly sleep that night from the jumpiness, seriously.
I do like probably all of the Gold Saints, but Aquarius Camus and Virgo Shaka I liked most XD Sketch of Shaka coming soon.
Had no reference so the cloth is completely wrong and his hair looks really flat XD

If I couldn't even read and write using the computer (I mean, writing is so much easier with the program... I doubt I'd be able to write much at all on paper), I'd be too ashamed to call myself Chinese. well actually I just wouldn't be able to claim a connection with chinese people... I'm sure you can read and write chinese? ...how long have you been in Canada?
The boy in the first episode or this guy? How can you say that?? Doesn't bring back memories of old anime that you watched when you were younger?? Well the style of art stays the same, but some cooler characters start coming out... I didn't like episode 1 either... I think it was episode 4 that got me into it? Then the gold saints are all awesome!

My Chinese is getting really bad though. I'm sure you still know the basics! You can never forget those! (they come when I don't think about it, but when I really think about it, it comes out wrong) I still feel you're really chinese though XD
I came in gr. 3 too!! I was 9 1/2 though and my mom made sure I studied Chinese... up till some time in jr. high school... and I long for the time when I actually used to do homework before fooling around!

so my chinese got lost
the most i can do now is talk and understand mandarin
and a bit of typing,
so i'd have a lot of mistakes with the similar-sounding-but-differnt-word problem

When I first came, everyone was saying how kids will learn English naturally, so for the first half year, I didn't study English at all! Then during the summer, my mom realized that I actually have to learn, so we went through everything I got at school, and I was fine by grade 4 XD Marks were easy and didn't matter then... And I still studied some Chinese in jr. high, not nearly as much though, but jr. high was easy... then I got swamped in high school because procrastination worsened every year... because mark matter so much, I don't like starting and making a bad start... that's just stupid, isn't it?

You always get off the continent! Last year I went to Shad Valley at kingston and my parents went through to west coast. Year before that we went to Niagara Falls and Toronto. Year before that was China. Then all years before that was nowhere T.T

You watched Saint Seiya too! Yup, Camus was definitely one of my favorites along with Shaka and Saga... hehe once you see the Gold Saints, you've just gotta love them more than the Bronze XD

I've never read any of it, but I remember watching some of it when I was younger. I've had anime around me all my life! My brothers and sisters all liked it[Mainly because my Mum hated it].
The hair doesn't look tooo bad. And I love his expression! =3

lol I can't draw in the original Saint Seiya style anymore XD I never did quite get used to the manga style, but the anime was cool!
I call myself a fan yet I've never read it either XD I don't remember watching this when I was young but I came to like it a lot around grade 8 when Knights of the Zodiac was airing.
Me too! All Asian kids are exposed to it and a lot, like me, end up liking it for a long long time... I mean, I'm practically an "adult" now XD

Saint Seiya is one of the few cases in which I preferred the anime... another was Ouran (could not stand the manga XD) SS is so long! I do want to watch what I missed but that would mean a lot of time XD

Wow, I remember when this was out on YTV as Knights of the Zodiac, and the opening theme song was I Ran by A Flock of Seagulls, which was hilarious because I always thought the lyrics were "I walked along the Alamo," instead of the actual lyrics of "I walked along the avenue," which I never got becuase it was Japanese animation and they were making reference to America history, which didn't fit with the storyline at all!

I never did watch it all that often, cause it was really just pretty guys in shining suits that either talked a lot or fought for no reason I could understand. Oh, and there was a glowing clock? altar? something like that. That's all I remember.
But I must say, looks good, considering I have no idea who it is or how it's supposed to look
But I think I'll trust Angela's judgement in drawing just this once!

Oh and I went to listen to it on youtube just now, and it's kinda scary... and imagine I actually took down all the lyrics and tried singing it...

After some episodes on YTV I started watching the original version. It was weird how the one on YTV had red blood replaced with blue and green and black blood XD I'll bet you didn't see the Gold Saints yet... but I'm not quite sure why I found it so cool, not saying that it wasn't good, but it was just kind of too revolved around fighting... no no, there was definitely plot! Maybe I just subconsciously really like Masami Kurumada's stuff... or some childhood thing XP

Pretty cool. I was never really a big Saint's Seiya fan cuz it was released so late in the game out here in the US(after Thundercats and SilverHawks and Ronin Warriors, it just felt like another 80's knight-in-shining armor ripoff show), but it looks like this guy has quite a personality.

How was Saint Seiya first released in the the US... as Knights of the Zodiac or is that later? Yeah I understand, but it's actually old and since I was never really into fighting, armor, that stuff, it was new enough for me XD...

I'm not really sure. Cartoon Network showed Knights of the Zodiac around 2003-2004 when they first launched their Saturday night block...and I wasn't very impressed. They showed Ronin Warriors in the late 90's on Toonami's afterschool block, and I liked that, so seeing KOTZ was like...meh.
