Description I took this yesterday morning, after the snowfall on Christmas Day. It's for a photography competition on "seasons" and obviously winter is the easiest to shoot for at the moment!

thank you very much I'm glad I captured it too! It was a pleasant surprise to find these roses still in the garden and the shot just came off perfectly and needed barely anything doing in Photoshop.

thanks, you're so sweet I'll let you know how I get on in the contest - I think it closes at the end of January. I really want to have more time for DA but I've been really busy trying to juggle jobs and I haven't even found much time over Christmas. I'm trying to work through the 150 message centre items now!

What a very lovely piece. It looks like the rose is frozen in time (pardon the pun) and looks impossible to still be alive under those conditions. You did a great job capturing this shot and also with the title.. couldn't be more appropriate. I gotta fav this one!

Thanks for your lovely comments and the (For some reason DA's not showing me who fav'd this so I've no idea who else has!). I'm so glad you said that about the title because I just got blank looks from my family when I showed it to them. Maybe it's too 'deep' and 'meaningful' for them and they just see a frozen flower, but I was beginning to wonder if I'd got it wrong.

I love the soft tones and that "sugar"-feeling... Although it's an iced rose, it has some kind of warmth in it... and strength.... And the font matches perfectly, where did you get it?
