Has anyone ever thought of this? I'm sure someone has, so I in no way claim this idea as my own. But it's not one I've seen before personally, and for some reason I just got to thinking on it (when I'm suppose to be in bed, of course ) Anyways...rough sketch for now, cause I had ta have a visual for the little ramble theory that popped in my head just now. Inks/colors soon. Also, they're meant to be young adults here (thus why Scar's mane looks smaller/shorter)

Short summary to catch us up to where this scene is: Mufasa goes in search of a missing lioness but when he doesn't return, Uru sets out to find him. In the process she's injured by an angry wilderbeest...injured very bad. Mufasa and the lioness find her on their way home and help her back to Pride Rock.

"Just let me rest," Uru winced as Mufasa helped her into the den.

Ahadi was pacing back and forth, "Uru you're such a fool! I told you Mufasa could take care of himself, he's not a cub anymore! You worry too much, and now look what's happened!" he was distraught and Uru only groaned at his roars.

"Father, please..." Mufasa urged, concern in his voice "We need to get Rafiki...now." they'd could use any help the mystic could offer.

Watching from a distance Scar slunk into the cave as soon as his father and brother walked out. Although he'd distanced himself from his mother many moons ago, she was still the only one that had honestly ever loved him. Silently he walked up to her; his heart began to pound as he noticed the deep gash across her stomach. Ahadi and Mufasa's trip would be pointless, this wasn't something even Rafiki with all his herbs could fix.

Uru hadn't yet noticed him, her breathing ragged and shallow she had allowed herself to drift to dull the pain. Her eyes flickered open slightly as she felt someone nudge her head gently.

"...Taka?" she sounded a little surprised; a weak smile crossed her face. Any other time he would have corrected her about that name, but not now.

Scar kept his head pressed against hers; she could feel the way he shook. "Don't you dare leave me." he whispered.

Uru's eyes welled with tears, this was the first time he'd come to her in what felt like forever. "I won't leave you my little one," she spoke in a hushed tone, trying hard to mask the pain, "Not ever." she purred softly and draped her paw across his. Mother and son nuzzled like this for a few precious minutes before Uru's head drooped against Scar's. His eyes went wide.

"Mother?"

Her paw, although still over his, was limp. Scar literally couldn't move. "Mother...!?" he asked again, pleading.

Silence.

A few moments later Mufasa entered the den, at first unaware of what had happened. Scar was still in the same place, frozen.

"Hows she doing?" Mufasa asked as he slowly approached them. Scar blinked away tears, but it wasn't sadness that greeted Mufasa. It was rage.

"YOU did this, he hissed, standing overtop Uru as if protecting her.

"What!?" Mufasa looked horrified.

"If she hadn't been out looking for YOU-"

Mufasa was clearly hurt, "How dare you blame me! Get out of the way Scar, Rafiki needs to look at mother!"

"What for?" Scar's voice lowered, "It's too late."

Mufasa's eyes widened and then filled with tears, "What do you mean!?" he pushed his brother out of the way and dropped to Uru's side.

Scar shrank back, his face twisted up with pain and anger. Mufasa had taken everything from him...everything.

Oh of course it's not really Mufasa's fault that Uru chose to go look for him, but it is in Scar's mind. Random theory! If Scar blamed Mufasa for something so horrible...sure wouldn't make him feel too bad about throwing him off a cliff, eh? XD Dunno if I plan to really work this into my fan fic or not, it's just sort of a random theory ramble at 2 am. Whoo!
