When it hit, it spread fast.... America was not prepared. The world was not prepared....

The hospital was packed.... bursting at the seams.... No rooms.... no beds.... The sick were the halls on stretchers and the make shift National Guard tents outside....

Through it all, Senior nurse Devon remained cool. Someone needed to perform triage. Someone who make the tough decisions.... She was used to it..... as a Captain in the National Guard, she'd served several tours in the Middle East and seen the worst of it. Now America needed her home.

Nurse Skylar was fresh out of college with a BS in Nursing.... She'd been on the job just a week when the outbreak hit. Devon saw she was shaky and took her under her wing... This was not a time for rookies....

"Oh my god Devon, people are dying everywhere! We can't handle all these people...." The new nurse was overwhelmed and near the breaking point....

The senior nurse's response was measured, but firm.... She grabbed the frantic nurse's head and looked her in the eyes.... "Nurse MaGill. We CAN handle this and will.... We need to triage these patients. Follow me with this marker.... on my instruction, write a "T" for treat, a "C" for critical and an "F" for fatal.... Our goal is to make sure the fatal patients comfortable, but we can't waste time treating them. They won't survive. Our priority is to stabilize those with a T and focus on the critical.... those may not make it...."

"I can't do it. Oh my god. I wish was back at the sorority house...."

"We can do it...." Devon was cool. She had been here before. He calm demeanor would steady the other nurses....

"They have toilet paper here. You better get some...."
