Every year, around Xmas time, I choose 3 people I follow that I greatly admire both on DA, and in their own lives' struggles. I RNG a number between 1-50, then go through their general gallery. (IE, where we tend to accidentally make copies of everything lol) and whomever that number lands on...I draw by hand with a xmas theme. To be honest, the hardest part here was sketching the head. That odd angle made me go, wuh? A few too many times. I spent 2 days in sketching. One was clean up. Spent about 3 days off and on, in inking/coloring, etc. This time around, I went through my own fav'd stock and went with something I liked, but didn't nessasarily plan on using on my own harpg equines. This was a challenge in many ways, in having the patience for 4 layers of hair, to trying my darndest to recreate those sabino markings, to keeping the secret this long. When it's art related, I CAN'T KEEP A FREAKIN' SECRET!! I swear, there were many times I just wanted to randomly DM someone on Discord and go, lookit I'm making as a surprise for Misty!!

With that said, here's the big, ' why I admire Misty.'

She's had a tough year-ish lately, and her patience, her hope, even her internal strength is amazing. I don't always voice that, because I myself am fighting a 'I wish I was a mom' struggle, and it's hard to be that person who gets all sweet and gushy over pics of what I myself am extremely jelous and sad over. Every single month I hit a low point. But it's Misty's gentle nature that in some ways helps keep me grounded, and teaches me that maybe, just maybe, good things do happen to those deserving of it. For the longest time, I didn't think I deserved this happiness. I did find cheaper alternatives and I'm working towards that in some ways. I have a feeling that Misty herself would be one hell of a cheerleader for me in being an I think I can kind of person that I'm on the road to becoming. I also admit, I'm getting a little emotional. But sometimes, the people that you share a community with, but maybe haven't even met, are your biggest supporters. (even if she hasn't bought a copy of my book! lmao)

So...

Merry merry and all that, Misty. Err...and better late than never?

This piece is of Zara, who's obviously NOT going to share that candy cane with anyone, but that warm light...why yes...she'll partake in some of that warm cozy light wafting from some hidden door. My goal here was to have a simple background with warm colors that showed the way I felt about how nice of a person Misty is.
