I sharpen my images in 3 steps, and remove grain in 2. All selective with masks.

can you explain the steps? i would die for such sharpness in my images and i have the legendary lens with the 450D

What lens do you use?
Guess there are many ways. First i remove grain, then i Sharpen in LAB mode, remove grain, resize about 1000 pixels down, sharpen, resize to web size, sharpen, remove grain if needed. All on layer masks so that the background stays out of focus.

i have the kit lens and the canon 50mm f/1.8 but i usually use the kit, more flexible and sharper.
also, i use linux, and the Gimp image editing software.
